out of 5We were staying over to break up a long journey, had asked for a quiet room but it wasnt. The hotel must be between pubs/clubs, very noisy early hours. Easy walking distance of city centre and across road from vue cinema. Restaurant good, breakfast lovely. We left the hotel after another fab breakfast on sunday and headed for the highlands for the rest of our break.

Weekend in Exeter

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The train ride from London to Exeter was on time and comfortable, surprisingly fast, which left time on our arrival to spend the afternoon in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter city centre. This won Museum of the Year 2012 and was an excellent experience; imaginatively and invitingly displayed exhibits catering to all tastes and some brilliant visiting exhibitions in the galleries. We particularly enjoyed 'Petal Power', featuring women's fashion dress textile designs from the 1940's. Could very easily have spent much longer there; the staff were courteous and the cake in the cafe really very good indeed. The Jurys Inn Hotel was very comfortable and centrally located. Saturday we hopped on a train to Cornwall and the Eden Project, and spent a great day in the biomes. Glad we went off peak as I suspect the foot traffic would be frantic in school holidays; the site was comfortably busy while we were there, fascinating, very educational (this is its very obvious remit, clearly stated) and the restaurants and shop were great too. I would visit again, and can do mutiple times for a year on using the entrance ticket we bought (you pay one entry price then "activate" your ticket in the shop to allow further free entries). We spent Sunday in the cathedral, had a Devon cream tea in 'Tea on the Green' on the cathedral green (well worth every calorie, scones literally just out of the oven and a breath taking range of excellent teas) and walking about the city centre (shops, castle walls, more churches) until our 6pm train back to London. The whole break was fantastic value for money and allowed us to do a great deal in the time we were there. We would happily go and do it all again.

out of 5Good looking hotel with a very good location inside exeter. Ideal either for a visit to the town or for a tour in the surroundings. All the personnel is very kind making you feeling confortable. The hotel has also several solutions for car parking. It was very enjoyable to walk from the hotel to downtown in 5 mins time. As a tip of improvement it would be nice to have a free wifi available at least in the common areas.
