Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Lille is so easy to get to. An hour and a half on the eurostar from St.Pancras and you are there, ready for a cafe au lait and a genuine croissant! Lovely cobbled streets which you can wander about happily and safely. A good mixture of high street stores and individual artisan shops. We encountered good service wherever we went and although it was appreciated when we tried to speak french, english was widely spoken. Everything was very accesible and we did not bother with the map after an hour.

out of 5Went for Xmas shopping. Shops were good but as in all of France shut on Sundays. Restaurants whilst good tended to be a bit pricey in the main town, although we did not have time to explore. People generally very friendly and helpfull. No grief from people who are drunk like in the UK and you feel comfortable walking the streets sightseeing.
