About St Pauls Cathedral

One of England's most iconic buildings St Pauls Cathedral London is brimming with beautiful mosaics and striking architecture. Designed by the renowned architect Sir Christopher Wren the current St Pauls Cathedral London is the fifth Cathedral to stand at this point, after the previous Cathedral was destroyed in the Great Fire of London.

With its distinctive dome and stunning exterior St Pauls Cathedral London is a magnificent building which is home to a rich array of art, monuments and historic artefacts. As you enter the Cathedral you will be amazed at the grandeur of its interior, from the awe inspiring nave to the detailed mosaics of the Cathedral floor and the spectacular sight of the quire. Venture down into the Crypt where you can see the tombs of Lord Nelson, Lord Wellington and Sir Christopher Wren. The Crypt is also home to the award winning 'Oculus; an eye into St Paul's' exhibition, depicting the history of the Cathedral since 604AD.

Before you leave the Cathedral be sure to climb up the dome, structured from three Galleries, there are 528 steps to the Golden Gallery where you can enjoy breathtaking views across the City. During your visit there are touch-screen multimedia guides to help you along your way alternatively the St Pauls Cathedral tour is a great way to learn about this fascinating building, join the Cathedral guides as they take you on a journey of discovery into areas of the cathedral that cannot otherwise be accessed.

Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday. 08.30am – 16.00pm (last admission). Once inside St Paul’s the galleries are open 9.30am – 16.15pm. The cathedral closes for sightseeing at 16.30pm.
